How to use a Bedfellow
Each Bedfellow arrives tied together in twine. Inside the reservoir sits the bobber and soil pucks. The soil pucks are made of coco coir and help aerate the soil. Add water to each puck when you’re ready to plant, it will expand into light-fluffy soil. If you’re transferring a plant into a Bedfellow, put the coco coir soil on the bottom of the Bedfellow, then plant. If you’re adding your own soil, mix the coco coir soil into soil before planting.
To water, simply water the soil as normal, but be sure to let extra water drain into the reservoir before pouring more in. The rate the reservoir empties can vary based on how much your plant drinks. Keeping the reservoir topped up is okay, however, its ideal to let the reservoir empty now and then, so the roots can breath.
